Out of 500 scripts submitted, Yolanda Ramke's screenplay for Cargo (developed with Ben Howling) was recently announced by Australians In Film as the inaugural winner of the Gateway LA Script Development Program. The project also topped the annual 'Aussie List', which follows in the footsteps Hollywood's Black List and the UK's Brit List.
BRUNA PAPANDREA, producing partner of REESE WITHERSPOON at PACIFIC STANDARD (Gone Girl, Wild) and Gateway LA judge, states: "Cargo is a beautifully rendered script that is both emotional and suspenseful. The writer demonstrates great skill in creating a world to which we are completely transported, while never losing touch with our protagonists".
Ramke and Howling are attached to co-direct the film, which will hopefully enter production in late 2016 and will be produced by Australian producer, Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook) of Causeway Films, and US producers, Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder of Addictive Pictures.
